Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio state license.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics department
• Covers Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30, 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating between campuses may be required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Active BLS certification required
• CRT or RRT certification required (not both)
• Active Ohio State RT license required at time of submission; license required if applicable
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process
• Experience with ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management devices including extubation and suctioning
• Experience with oxygen therapy, including High Flow Nasal Cannula and trach collar
• Skill in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Experience administering various respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and others as needed
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference, no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care including medication delivery, airway management, and ventilator support
• Perform pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection as needed
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
