Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room for a hospital surgical services department requiring KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Works in the main OR consisting of 8 operating rooms
• Patient population is mostly outpatient and post-surgical admissions
• Service areas include Orthopedics, Urology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, ENT, Podiatry, and Gynecology
• 4x10 day shift schedule, 6:45a-5:15p
• 40 hours per week
• Call required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required per department compliance
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior OR experience required, though previous nursing experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination throughout the surgical process
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities with patient and family-centered education
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Promote a positive, healing environment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Candidates must live within a 75-mile radius; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
