Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active SC or compact RN license and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a 119-bed acute care hospital with 54 beds on the unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Holiday coverage required (Thanksgiving or Christmas/Christmas Eve plus other recognized holidays as needed)

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience required
• IV start skills required
• Tele/cardiac drip management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local
• Non-local candidates are prioritized
• RTO must be submitted at time of offer and is subject to facility approval
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
