Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a 54-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7a-7p
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience required
• IV start skills required
• Tele/management of cardiac gtt experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit, including IV therapy, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
• Holiday coverage required, including Thanksgiving or Christmas/Christmas Eve plus other recognized holidays as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Block schedule requests may be submitted for consideration but are not guaranteed
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius for priority consideration; local candidates considered case-by-case
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
