Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- CVICU setting within a hospital, typically a 36-bed unit
- Targeted patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 36- or 48-hour shift options available
- Patient population includes post cardiac surgery (direct and non-direct from OR), pre/post cardiac cath intervention, and patients requiring Impella support
- Utilizes Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz and thermodilution PA catheter monitoring
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required at facility discretion, including to other campuses within 10-15 miles of main campus
- Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
Requirements
- Active RN license (any state or compact) accepted for consideration; OH or compact license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Must pass online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to starting assignment
- Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws required
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
- Epic charting experience required
- Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including post-surgical and cardiac intervention cases
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
- Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submittal; no RTO added after offer
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous PERM/PRN staff or agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Up to 24 hours of orientation modules required
