Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a day shift acute-care position requiring 2 years of experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a 19-bed acute-care hospital
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend requirements per unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-1:6, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
• May float to sister units in the North region on a rare basis
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy blue scrub color required

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry (on-unit and remote)
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration

Additional Information

• Provide Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing care including medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Complete all facility-specific modules within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are accepted as long as experience requirements are met
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during high-census times
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this information for eligibility review
• Travelers who have applied to UCHealth's internal travel or perm staff positions within the last two years are not eligible for consideration
