Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring an active SC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for adult patients with chest pain/ACS, arrhythmias, CVA/TIA/stroke, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeding, and post-surgical patients across multiple specialties
• Performs cardiac/telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and dialysis
• Administers Level 3 continuous IV infusions and IV push medications per facility policy
• Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems
• Documents in EPIC EMR
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need
• Floating to similar units or facilities required based on census needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or compact)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac telemetry or related specialty required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as part of patient care
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code team activities as needed
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility between 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
