Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring circulating skills and prior Level 1 or 2 trauma experience.

Details

• 25-bed Level 1 Trauma Center operating room
• Handles 60-70 cases with a heavy focus on Ortho, Spine, and Neuro, plus other service lines
• No Cardiac or Transplant cases
• Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic for charting
• Rotating Day/Evening shifts (2x8s, 2x12s, or 4x10s) with shift times ranging from 0645 to 2315
• Weekend shifts required with flexibility expected (Sunday night not considered a weekend shift)
• No block scheduling available; flexibility for unit needs is required
• No floating required outside of scope
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license (compact license holders must apply for WA license and complete 6-hour suicide prevention training)
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 3-4 years preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred, Level 2 trauma experience required
• Circulating skills required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Majority of skills checklist ratings in Neuro and Ortho/Spine should be 3-4

Additional Information

• Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status and 500 staffed beds
• Facility-provided scrubs
• Participate in circulating duties across Ortho, Spine, Neuro, and other surgical service lines
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days, with minimal time off requested and none during the first 2 weeks
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
