Description

American Traveler is hiring a Clinical Decisions Unit RN with telemetry experience for a night shift travel assignment requiring WV or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Clinical Decision Unit / Med-Surg Telemetry setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, CHF, COPD, stroke, chest pain, postoperative orthopedic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and EENT patients
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required
• Charting system is Cerner
• Orientation held every other Monday

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and stroke/CVA care required
• Experience with IV starts, blood product administration, and oxygen therapy required
• Experience with rapid-response/code situations required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid-response/code teams
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions considered with signed physician's note and completed exemption form, religious exemptions not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Non-billable training modules must be completed prior to start date, averaging 8 hours
