Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a valid OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of PCU experience.

Details

Work within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Utilize Epic for documentation

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Minimum 2 years of PCU or strong Stepdown experience required (ICU experience not required)
Minimum 1 year of charge RN experience
Epic charting experience required
Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care within a progressive care/stepdown telemetry environment
Must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting an offer due to strict compliance timelines
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
Former employees eligible to return as travelers only after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at this facility
Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
First-time travelers may be considered, as travel experience is not required
