Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and a California RN license.

Details

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient population includes ortho trauma, total joint replacement, renal failure, CVA, and plastics/surgical drain cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Allscripts charting system used

Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Allscripts charting experience required
• References required for consideration
• Must pass an onsite Advanced EKG exam (80% or higher, one attempt, 45-minute time limit) prior to starting the assignment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response teams
• Skills needed include central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, CBI, pre/post hemodialysis management, and wound care/wound vac
• Respiratory care duties include BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 3 RTO days for the remainder of the contract
• All time off requests must be submitted and finalized at the time of consideration
• Must be willing to work holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous employees considered for return on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
