Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week rotating shift assignment requiring AWHONN Intermediate and NRP certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Facility handles 200-300 births per month
• Rotating Night (4x12, 19:00-7:30) and Day (4x12, 7:00-19:30) shifts
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner EMR preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• AHA certifications only accepted for BLS
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Comfortable completing sterile vaginal exams, assisting with vaginal deliveries, and circulating for C-sections
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs, drawing venous blood, and recognizing complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
• NRP skills for newborn stabilization post-delivery
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Two supervisor references preferred
• SSN, DOB, RTO, and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include vaginal exams, assisting in vaginal deliveries, circulating in C-section deliveries, and newborn stabilization using NRP skills
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius based on need
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start modules required before entering the facility
• Former permanent employees are not eligible unless they have been gone for 2 years
• Travelers who have completed a cumulative year of assignments within the health system must take a two-year break before returning
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• Traveler can only be submitted to one facility within the health system at a time
