Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Circulating RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience with strong orthopedic background and call responsibilities.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room (OR) as a Circulator at a critical access hospital
- Supports general surgery services including laparoscopic and open procedures such as cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and oncologic surgery for breast or colon cancer
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (9-hour shifts, 32 hours guaranteed)
- Weekend requirement of one weekend per month (Friday-Monday), including holidays if needed
- On-call requirement of 10 shifts per month including one weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday 24-hour shifts) and rotating holidays, with call hours from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM Monday-Thursday
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active VT RN license or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2+ years of current OR experience in a hospital setting required
- Strong circulating experience with orthopedic surgery required
- Minimum 3 months of travel nursing experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Skills checklist for Operating Room, current within 1 year required for consideration
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide circulating nursing support for general surgery procedures including colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, hernia repairs, soft tissue mass excisions, and oncologic surgery
- General surgeon is on call for urgent/emergent surgical cases such as appendectomy and bowel obstruction repair
- No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be accepted for this assignment, and all RTO must be submitted and verified prior to offer
