Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring NJ or compact licensure and willingness to float to multiple critical care units.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Must be willing to float to Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, PACU, Cardiac PACU, CCU, Med/Surg Step Down, Neurovascular Step Down, and Cardiac Step Down
• May also float to a sister hospital nearby
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Knowledge of pre- and post-operative assessment, documentation guidelines, and safe transfer techniques

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across pediatric to geriatric populations
• Deliver direct patient care, including monitoring and use of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Uphold patient safety protocols including National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol
• Provide patient and family education, particularly related to pre- and post-operative care
• Holiday coverage required for one winter and one summer holiday
• Every other weekend work expected
