Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with a CA license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications for a day-shift assignment requiring float and weekend coverage.

Details

• Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in telemetry or a related acute care specialty
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• Two supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Support patients requiring IV therapy, blood product administration, and line care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Previous staff must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Limited RTO requested within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days preferred over the 13-week contract
