Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure, EPIC experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Scrubs not provided; any color accepted

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in-hand (CPI preferred)
• Minimum of 18 months of recent experience required
• Minimum of 3 years of charge nurse experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in telemetry within the past 2 years required
• EPIC EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including pacemakers and post cardiac cath care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a cardiac/medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Manage patients with cardiac, renal, neurological, gastrointestinal, and endocrine conditions
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and other emergencies
• Candidates on a temporary or similar license must be noted in bold on their application
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Former staff must be separated from employment for a minimum of 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Manager may choose not to conduct an interview prior to assignment
• Required to provide confirmation of requested time off (RTO) at time of application
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment; max of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred
