Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical Oncology RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner charting proficiency for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and CPI Blue Card certifications required in-hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• EPIC experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Minimum one year of acute care experience required
• At least one year of full-time equivalent experience in oncology within the past two years required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management required
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring required
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) required
• Two supervisor references required at time of application

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to med/surg oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Responsibilities include wound care, isolation precautions, and management of various patient conditions such as renal failure, CVA, and substance withdrawal
• Must be gone a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler if previously employed at the facility
• Prior travel experience is generally required unless otherwise specified
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred, with no RTO within the first two weeks of the assignment
