Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring MO or compact RN licensure and proficiency starting IVs.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 0600-1430
- No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements
- No floating required outside of scope
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Involves starting peripheral IVs and accessing ports; no sedation experience needed
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required; ACLS required by compliance deadline
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred, with strong emphasis on proficiency starting IVs
- Preferred experience with EPIC charting system
- Preferred teaching hospital experience
- Skills in IV therapy, implanted port care and maintenance, IV infusion pumps, PICC line care and maintenance, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Emergency medication administration skills preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for providing nursing care within the Interventional Radiology department, including IV and port access procedures
- Facility requires navy-colored scrubs
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Pending license accepted at time of submission
- Up to 2 RTO requests allowed, not exceeding 40 hours (5 days) total during the contract, with no time off permitted during the first week of assignment
- Standard travelers may work up to 18 months at BJC facilities, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, with no exceptions
- Candidates will be interviewed before an offer is extended
