Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN with EPIC experience to care for Med Surg/Tele patients across the ED and floor units.

Details

• Float Pool position caring for Med Surg/Tele patients holding in the Emergency Room while awaiting floor beds
• Also staffs Med Surg/Tele units when not needed in the ED
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• EPIC charting required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
• Experience with Med Surg/Tele patient population including neurological/psychiatric, CVA, gastrointestinal, respiratory, endocrine/metabolic, and genitourinary/renal conditions
• Skilled in feeding tube care, heparin protocols, PCA, IV insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and renal failure management
• At least two recent manager references required
• Must disclose any license hits at time of consideration along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Med Surg/Tele patients in both ED holding and inpatient unit settings
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate regardless of specialty
• Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions
• First-time travelers are not specified as excluded for this position
