Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ICU experience, 1:3 patient ratios, and an active CA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:3
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within skillset, including to sister facilities within the same state
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
- ICU experience required for consideration in this PCU role
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry (on-unit and remote)
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and PICC line management
- Knowledge of CVA and traumatic brain injury care
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide care for medically complex patients requiring step-down level monitoring and interventions
- Scrub color is unrestricted; lab and OR scrubs provided
- Free parking available on-site
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal flexibility for additional time off once on contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
