Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN - Med/Surg Float for a float pool position requiring 2 years of experience and an active LA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Float position covering Med Surg/Tele patients holding in the Emergency Room while awaiting floor beds
- Also floats to Med Surg/Tele units when not needed in the ED
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in care for neurological/psychiatric conditions including CVA
- Experience with gastrointestinal care including feeding tube management
- Experience with medication administration including Heparin protocols and PCA
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with endocrine/metabolic conditions including IV insulin protocols
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with genitourinary/renal conditions including renal failure
- At least two recent manager references required
- Any license hits must be disclosed along with a personal statement
Additional Information
- Provide care for Med Surg/Tele patient population in both ED holding and floor unit settings
- Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and accepted at the local rate
- Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel roles
- First-time travelers are not considered for this role
