Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week contract requiring at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- 32-bed Med/Surg unit (4N) within a hospital setting
- Staffing includes charge RNs, RNs, and PCTs on both day and night shifts
- Day shift patient ratio of 1:5 and night shift ratio of 1:6
- Cares for surgical patients including kidney transplant, dialysis, and diabetic cases
- Uses Welch Allyn vital signs machines, iPhones, and radio headsets for communication
- Charts in Meditech EMR
- 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend rotation required at least every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with transplant, dialysis, or diabetic patient populations preferred
- Must provide US SSN and date of birth for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for surgical and medical patients including post-transplant recovery
- Navy scrub color required
- Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction in 2021
- Team-oriented environment valuing initiative and collaboration
- Permanent positions also available on this unit
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
