Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring medical/surgical experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg unit (4N) within a hospital setting with 32 beds and 50 staff members
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs
- Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
- Unit performs surgical procedures including kidney transplants
- Patient population may include transplant, dialysis, and diabetic patients
- Uses Welch Allyn vital signs machines, iPhones for communication, and radios with headsets
- Meditech EMR used on the unit
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work at least every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with transplant, dialysis, and diabetic patients preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit handling a wide range of surgical cases including kidney transplants
- Team-oriented environment seeking candidates who are collaborative and take initiative
- Navy scrub color required
- Unit recognized as Unit of Distinction in 2021
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
