Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med Surg unit requiring at least one year of acute care experience and Expanse EMR familiarity.

Details

• Work in the 1 North Med Surg/Telemetry unit, a 32-bed unit with 34 staff
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 3 techs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2-3 techs
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 and tech ratio of 1:10-15
• Uses Expanse EMR for admissions, discharges, and charting
• 7A-7P shift schedule over a 13-week assignment
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Floating required to any unit within skill set

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry or Med Surg/Tele specialty required
• Familiarity with Expanse EMR, including admissions and discharges, required
• Experience with acute care on a M/S Tele or stepdown unit preferred
• Ability to draw labs preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform lab draws, IV insertions, foley insertions, and administer IV fluids and medications such as antibiotics
• Prepare patients for surgical and non-surgical procedures
• Attend daily huddle at 0645/1845 and participate in bedside shift report
• Complete required daily charting
• Team player with strong focus on patient experience preferred
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
