Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring med/surg and PCU experience with telemetry proficiency for a night shift assignment.

Details

• PCU/Telemetry unit caring for a mixed-acuity patient population, including occasional ICU-level patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-6
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 1830-0700, 3x12 schedule (4x12 considered for additional weekend availability)
• Weekend rotation required with every other holiday
• Standby call as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI State or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in med/surg and PCU required
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit
• Inpatient RN travelers must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start, including strict pass/fail criteria for rhythm identification

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

• Candidates must remove all references prior to consideration
• Telemetry exam requires two attempts to pass; a third attempt may be granted upon completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
