Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and advanced fetal monitoring expertise in a high-risk L&D unit.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 4 Triage rooms, 11 LDR rooms, 2 ORs, NICU, and Post-Partum care
• Supports 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
• Handles both low and high-risk L&D cases
• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 19:00-7:30
• 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday)
• No on-call required if working 4 shifts per week; 1 on-call shift per 2 weeks required if working 3 shifts per week
• Uses Epic, SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts systems

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Epic experience required
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk patients required
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm required
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience required
• Proficiency in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with external fetal monitoring
• Experience circulating for C-sections
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and circulating for C-sections
• Must work most holidays with holiday RTO requests reviewed but not guaranteed
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and confirmed for the full 13-week contract, with no changes permitted other than cancellations
• No RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed
• Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Previous staff considered for return on a case-by-case basis
