Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with NICU/PICU experience for a day shift assignment at a children's hospital requiring floating across units.

Details

• Pediatric critical care and NICU work settings
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend work required, subject to change based on unit needs and RTO
• Floating to different units required for most positions
• Uses ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, and G5 Hamilton Vent
• Performs medication delivery via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer systems including Albuterol and Nitric Oxide (iNO)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in NICU/PICU due to floating requirement
• BLS and RRT certifications required
• PALS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• OH state license required if applicable
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in ABG interpretation, airway management, suctioning, intubation assist, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric CPAP, Nasal CPAP, BiPAP, and oscillating ventilators
• 2 supervisory references required, at least one must hold a manager or supervisor title

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care for critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients including airway management and ventilator support
• Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management as needed
• Must be prepared to float to different units depending on assignment needs
• All RTO in signed contracts will be honored by the facility
• Makeup shifts required within the same pay period for any call out or absence
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates not permitted within a 60-mile radius of the facility
