Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience for a night shift position (6P-6A) in Respiratory Therapy, covering ED, ICU, and floor therapy.

Details

• 350-bed hospital with a Respiratory Therapy unit on the 5th floor South Tower
• Level 2 NICU transitioning to Level 3 NICU later this year
• Busy ED coverage, though facility is not a trauma center
• Provides ED coverage, ICU coverage, and floor therapy services
• Uses equipment including PB 840/980, V60, Airvo 2, PocketPEP, MCG Bedside Spirometry, and RapidPoint 500e blood gas analyzers
• EMR system is Meditech
• Night shift hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Respiratory Therapy
• NICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for Respiratory Therapy staff caring for neonates
• PALS may be required if noted in specific unit needs
• Active RRT license required if applicable
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri)

Additional Information

• Join a team of 28 staff members, with 6 on days and 5 on nights
• Grey scrubs required for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted
• Best fit for outgoing and reliable individuals
• Hospital is not a trauma center but maintains a very busy Emergency Department
