Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of critical care experience in a large hospital setting.
Details
- Acute care setting within a hospital Respiratory Therapy department
- Cares for general med, intermediate, and ICU adult patients
- Uses AARC point system with 26-28 points assigned per shift
- Primary ventilators are Servo U, Servo i, and LTV; Trilogy for Bipap; ResMed S9 for Cpap; Fisher Paykel for heated high flow
- Team lead available as a resource on each shift, does not take patient assignments
- Hospitalist or Intensivist available in house 24/7
- Uses EPIC EMR
- 12-hour day shifts, 0630-1900
- Weekend requirement every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- Holiday requirement every other holiday
- No call or standby call required
- No floating required within RT
Requirements
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required, RRT preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Experience in a large critical care facility (300+ beds) required
- Critical care experience required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Active IL license required if applicable
Additional Information
- Department-specific orientation includes EPIC training, ventilator review, IPV and specialty item review during the first 12 hours
- Orientation continues with a preceptor for the second and third 12-hour shifts before working independently
- Any color scrubs permitted; scrubs not provided
- Candidates must not have worked at any OSF facility within the past year
- Local candidates welcome
