Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN to rotate between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience including Telemetry.

• Float Pool position rotating between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units
• Cares for patients of varying acuity across multiple departments
• Night shift, 7p-7a, 3x12 schedule, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire; candidates already holding these are strongly preferred
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training required by end of orientation and annually thereafter
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with required Telemetry experience
• Recent specialty experience preferred; ICU or critical care experience a plus
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Ability to lift, push and pull over 35 lbs frequently
• Frequent walking, repetitive motion, bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues required
• Last 4 of SSN and MM/DD of DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report
• Prioritizes patient care as needs change across multiple units
• Maintains ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Requires flexibility and strong time management across varied units
• Adheres to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality standards
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases
• Implements comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and discharge coordination
• Delegates and oversees care activities performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and core measures
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
