Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN to care for patients across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU, requiring a KY or compact RN license and Telemetry experience.

Details

• Float Pool role rotating between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units
• Care for patients of varying acuity levels across multiple departments
• Night shift schedule: 7p-7a, 3x12, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating across multiple units is a core job function

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with required Telemetry experience
• ICU or critical care experience preferred
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training required before end of orientation and annually thereafter
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Ability to lift, push and pull over 35 lbs frequently
• Frequent walking, repetitive motion, bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues required

Additional Information

• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report
• Prioritize care as patient needs change across different units
• Maintain ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong time management across multiple units
• Adhere to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps and airborne infectious diseases
• Candidates with ACLS, PALS and NIHSS already in hand are strongly preferred
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
