Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN to rotate across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience with Telemetry background and an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Float Pool position rotating between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units caring for patients of varying acuity
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7a-7p
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report expected

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with required Telemetry experience
• Recent specialty experience preferred; ICU or critical care experience a plus
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training completed before end of orientation and maintained annually
• Candidates already holding ACLS, PALS and NIHSS strongly preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration
• Able to frequently lift, push and pull over 35 lbs, walk frequently, perform repetitive motion and bending, and demonstrate color discrimination for clinical cues

• Prioritizes patient care as needs change and communicates ongoing updates with physicians and other departments
• Requires flexibility and strong time management across multiple units
• Adheres to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps and airborne infectious diseases
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
