Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN to rotate between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU, requiring a KY or compact RN license and at least 1 year of RN experience with telemetry background.

Details

• Float Pool position rotating between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU units
• Cares for patients of varying acuity levels across multiple units
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating across multiple units is a core job requirement

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with telemetry experience required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training required before end of orientation and annually thereafter
• Candidates already holding ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS strongly preferred
• ICU or critical care experience is a plus
• Ability to perform frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs, frequent walking, repetitive motion, bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reporting
• Continuously prioritize patient care as needs change across units
• Maintain ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong time management skills across multiple units
• Adhere to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality standards
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
