Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, with no prior experience required.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed, 4-chair Emergency Department with a clinical decision unit
• Cares for all ages and acuity levels, with dedicated spaces for critical care and fast-track treatment of non-emergent patients
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Full-time schedule of 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Weekend requirements apply

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS and NIHSS certification required
• ACLS and PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls, and documentation audits
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
