Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Float position within the MS/Tele unit, floating within scope to meet facility needs
• Team nursing model with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:8
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling available
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS, TCAR, and TCRN certifications preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical patient populations required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a medical-surgical and telemetry patient population, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Support rapid response and code teams as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Preferred RTO requests of 5 days or less
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
