Description

American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) requiring IL RN licensure, charge experience, and cardiac telemetry skills on night shift.

Details

• PCU setting managing a 32-bed unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Works Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Holiday rotation required, no weekends
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and emergency response duties, including IV starts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and bedside cardioversion
• Cares for patients with COPD, CAD, CHF, AFib, sepsis, and COVID

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred)

Additional Information

• Serves as a charge nurse and resource for newer staff on the unit
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code team coordination
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must have completed their last travel assignment within the past year or taken a 6-month break before reapplying as a traveler
• Local candidates within a 70-mile radius are not accepted
