Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring IL RN licensure and 1 year of telemetry experience.

Details

Night shift position (3x12 or 4x12), Monday through Thursday with occasional weekend shifts
PCU/telemetry unit caring for patients with COPD, CAD, CHF, AFib, sepsis, and COVID
Patient ratio of 1:4
No on-call expectation
Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active IL RN license required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry nursing experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, starting IVs, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and bedside cardioversion
Community hospital experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of cardiac drips
Must be able to work 2 of 4 winter holidays based on scheduling needs
Navy scrubs required
First-time travelers accepted
Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
