Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active IL RN license and prior telemetry/cardiac care experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, COPD, CAD, CHF, AFib, sepsis, and COVID cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), with 3x12 or 4x12 schedules accepted
• Works Monday through Thursday with occasional weekend shifts
• No on-call expectation
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, starting IVs, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and bedside cardioversion
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac emergency response required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and telemetry care for PCU patients
• Must be able to work 2 of 4 winter holidays depending on scheduling needs
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must live more than 70 miles from the facility to be considered
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
