Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Telemetry Float for a night shift role requiring 2 years of experience and a Massachusetts RN license.

Details

• Tele Float position with expectation to float to all Telemetry units
• Float population includes MS/Tele, Orthopedics, Ortho trauma, Genitourinary/Renal, and Plastics patients
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend/every other holiday (EOW/EOH) scheduling
• 48 hours per week schedule
• Epic charting system preferred
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license in hand required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management required
• Respiratory skills including chest tube management, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code teams required
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and PCA required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with CVA and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Float to multiple telemetry units as needed based on facility demand
• Must complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation with only 1 attempt allowed; failure results in contract cancellation
• Exempt from RN telemetry testing if experience is in Mother Baby/Postpartum, Ambulatory, OR, SACU, or Psych
• Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs)
• Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual modules
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• One of the three upcoming major holidays may be requested off
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have previous floating experience
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
