Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or LA RN license and CPI certification.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a non-trauma, stroke-certified facility
• Average daily census of 114 with 29 rooms
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours (6:45am-7:15pm), with unit open to 3x12s or 4x12s
• Epic charting system experience required
• No call-in requirements for this position

Requirements

• Active compact or LA RN license required in hand at time of submittal
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI may be completed on site)
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• AHA certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ER specialty experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with neurological and CVA patient care
• Experience administering emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Skilled in managing and applying splints for orthopedic and ortho trauma cases
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, pediatric care, and mental/behavioral health conditions

Additional Information

• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility emergency events, requiring extended onsite presence or participation in a relief team
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RN) required to obtain clearance to start contract, though not required for initial consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO must be included on profile and discussed during interview to avoid risk of rescinded offer
• Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a travel candidate
