Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general OR skills and robotics or ortho/neuro experience preferred for a day/evening shift position requiring MD or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting providing general surgical services
• Day/evening shift coverage, primarily day shift with flexibility for variable shift assignments based on departmental needs
• 40 hours weekly on 8 or 10 hour shifts
• One evening shift required per week
• Weekend call required (1-2 twelve-hour call shifts) plus weekday call as needed
• One holiday coverage required
• Uses Cerner charting system
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) experience preferred
• Orthopedic/Neuro surgical experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience within the last 7 years required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Prior charge experience preferred
• General OR and Cerner experience required
• Does not accept first-time travelers; at least one prior travel assignment required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Driver's license required at time of consideration, with address matching for local status determination
