Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with general OR experience and Trauma Level I facility background for a day/evening shift role requiring an MD or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• 40 hours weekly with primary day-shift coverage, flexible to work variable day/evening shifts based on departmental needs
• Shift options include 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 9:00 AM–7:30 PM, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, 1:00 PM–11:30 PM, and 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Requires one evening shift per week (8- or 10-hour shift)
• Call requirements include 1–2 twelve-hour weekend call shifts, weekday call as needed, and coverage for 1 holiday
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required within the last 7 years
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• General OR skills required
• Robotics Xi experience preferred
• Ortho/Neuro experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

• Scrubs are provided
• No parking fees
• Flu vaccine required for all employees
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Candidates must have been separated from previous MedStar employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate
