Description
American Traveler is hiring an OB/GYN Ultrasound Technologist with 1+ years of experience and OB credentialing for a 13-week outpatient assignment.
Details
- Outpatient OB/GYN office setting with one ultrasound room in a radiology suite at an off-site office park
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-5:00pm and Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am-3:00pm schedule
- 40 hours per week, day shift
- 1:1 clinician to patient ratio
- Performs OB scanning including first, second, and third trimester exams, GYN exams, and transvaginal exams
- Uses Epic EMR
- No floating or rotating shifts required
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in ultrasound required
- RDMS-ABD certification required
- OBGYN credential required
- OB credentialed with experience in OB, GYN, and transvaginal scanning
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active MA license required at time of consideration; no conditional or pending licenses accepted
- License required if applicable
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
Additional Information
- Perform OB/GYN ultrasound exams including trimester scans, GYN exams, and transvaginal studies
- Local candidates accepted with a 60-mile radius rule from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; local rate is 5% less than standard rate
- Timekeeping managed through UKG/Kronos
- Parking at Boston-area locations is not validated; public transportation or paid public parking required

Cons
When I was groped at work by a fellow coworker, I told management. From my perspective she was not reprimanded. She had a day or two off , and semi-apologized privately (it also seemed insincere). I was still forced to work with her throughout the rest of the time I was contracted there. When a majority of the staff abandoned me and a new hire got the end of the day, we were managed by an equal from another department on another floor. That technologist walked in and made assumptions; created havoc and reported falsehoods. Management had a departmental meeting the very next afternoon and stuck with the false accusations which were shown to be inaccurate and untrue by time-stamped Epic charting. I would talk about training, but does 30 minutes of showing how to do something with no explanation count? -No it does not. I was verbally accosted by a per diem technologist in front of a patient, and I was told I was wrong for doing my job. I was also told that I was pre-labeled as a liar by the per diem before I got into the department. Would I recommend working here- only if you’re a strong-charactered woman who has befriended the queen bees before interviewing- maybe.
