Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for an evening/night rotating shift assignment, requiring RRT credential and Illinois state licensure
Details
- Evening shift 3p-1130p and/or night shift 11p-730a, may include a combination of both shifts
- Requires weekend and holiday coverage
- 13-week assignment
- Treats patients of all ages with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care
- Current and valid Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care or AARC
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Current Illinois state license in Respiratory Care required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required, or must be obtained within 3 months of job offer acceptance
- CRT certification required
- No prior experience required, 1 year experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize duties for timely completion of routine, scheduled, and stat procedures
Additional Information
- Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
- Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity
- Administer treatments including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
- Monitor and record patient progress
- Teach patients how to take medications and use equipment such as ventilators
- Assist in training and precepting new hire employees
- Work as part of a cardiopulmonary care team
- Exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens in an inside environmental setting
- Physical demands include medium work with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting up to 20 pounds
