Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TNCC and PALS certification at a Level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center.

Details

• 38-bed Emergency Department including trauma bays, burn room, psych room, and vertical treatment area
• Level 1 trauma center, accredited burn center, certified chest pain and comprehensive stroke center
• Unit staffed with RNs, advanced paramedics, EMTs, and unit secretary, with dedicated charge nurse coverage
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity and volume
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Shift schedule is 7A-7P with self-scheduling available
• 4 weekend shifts required per month
• No regular floating required, though cross-training to a sister facility may be requested

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license eligible
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• SAMA or CPI certification required, with a 30-day grace period available for new hires
• ENPC certification preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency and trauma nursing care across a high-acuity, fast-paced ED environment
• Royal blue scrubs required, branded attire preferred
• Best fit for candidates who are easygoing, flexible, and maintain a patient-first approach under pressure
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
