Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU Float RN with telemetry and Med Surg floating experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU Float position supporting primarily Med Surg units with floating required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend work required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and MS/Tele units
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Wound care and isolation precaution experience

Additional Information

• Provide care to Med Surg and telemetry patients with floating support across units
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with mandatory compliance
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Must complete facility orientation modules, averaging 2-3 hours, during the first 16 hours of orientation
• Must be able to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan
