Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry Float RN with at least 2 years of med/surg and PCU experience to support a mixed-acuity unit on night shifts.

Details

• Float position supporting a Telemetry unit with mixed acuity, including med/surg, PCU, and occasional ICU patients
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 18:30-07:00
• Weekend rotation required, with potential for 4x12 schedule if working more weekends
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Standby call as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:3-6
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI State or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience in med/surg and PCU within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to assignment start
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and use of rapid response/code teams
• All references must be removed prior to consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to a mixed-acuity population including PCU, telemetry, and occasional ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to emergent dysrhythmias
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted

• Telemetry exam requires passing criteria including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall score, with up to three attempts allowed
• Candidates with less than 3 years of experience who are first-time travelers will be screened carefully
