Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Home health care setting serving a geriatric patient population
• Average daily census of 650 patients
• Patient diagnoses include HF, COPD, wounds, DM, post-surgical, respiratory illness, sepsis, dementia, s/p CVA, and s/p MI
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Block scheduling type
• No call requirements
• Candidates must be willing to float within the health system as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• Washington state license required if applicable
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in activities of daily living, adaptive equipment, home assessment, pre-discharge planning, and wheelchair evaluation
• Experience with home exercise programs, lifting and transfer, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention
• Experience with OASIS documentation
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, at least one from a supervisor

Additional Information

• Evaluate and treat patients within the scope of Occupational Therapy, determining plan of care and treatment goals
• May provide oversight to therapy assistants, aides, and/or students
• Work collaboratively as part of a patient care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of submission, with limits depending on offer type
• First-time travelers may be considered
