Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 2.5 years of high-volume ER experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• High-volume ER with over 90,000 annual visits
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:30
• Weekend shifts required per departmental needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within the hospital based on census
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• At least 2.5 years of experience in a large Level II Trauma Center required
• High-volume ER experience (90K+ annual visits) required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with orthopedic trauma care
• Neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ICP monitoring, CVA, gunshot wound, traumatic amputation, head injury, and near drowning experience preferred
• One professional reference required (within 2 years)
• Current Nursys report required (pulled within 2 weeks of consideration)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric population in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Manage trauma and shock patients, including gunshot wounds and traumatic injuries
• Support pediatric emergency cases and general ER operations
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 2.5 years of large Level II Trauma Center experience requirement
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Requested time off must be submitted and pre-approved at the time of consideration, with no additions afterward
