Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active CA RN license, Epic experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required in-hand
• 1 year of previous charge experience required
• 1 year of acute care experience required
• 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past two years required for specialized units
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with gastrointestinal care including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, and colostomy/ileostomy management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with genitourinary/renal care including CBI, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis management
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric conditions including CVA and substance withdrawal
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, cardiac drips (no titration), and PCA
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Copies of all required certifications required at time of application

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across med/surg, telemetry, orthopedics, cardiovascular, and plastics populations
• Manage post-angiogram and surgical drain care as needed
• Support total joint replacement and ortho trauma patients
• Module training is completed during orientation and annually, with hours varying by specialty
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred
• Screenshot confirmation of requested RTO required at time of application
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Returning staff must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
